Well, for starters, from a Zen perspective, it means everyone else is as temporary as me, which suggests their actions, experiences, and opinions aren't necessarily any more valid than mine. This goes to the importance of understanding things directly, rather than getting trapped in the cul de sac of authority.
On a more prosaic level, it's a rejection of convention. We all came from the same place, and we're all going the same place. So none of the herd's little maxims came from any unique source of insight.
To sum it up succinctly: we're not different.
I don't know if Brad meant these things specifically, although he's known to be highly suspicious of authority and convention. But in my life and practice, people attempting to control rather than accompany me have been a major source of delusional obstruction.
