(Note: in the Vulgate this phrase begins: "... advena ego sum", which is sometimes translated as resident or dweller – as indeed is Jerome in some texts. As far as my own training can ascertain, incola and advena both parse as "one who has arrived or entered", though etymology isn't destiny in linguistics. Other interpretations suggest pursuit and/or homelessness: "stranger", "wanderer", "wayfarer", "traveller", "sojourner", "pilgrim".
Insofar as I'm not a classicist, I've gone with the translation that best speaks to me.)
