WW: Eagle above the bluffs

  1. What type of Eagle is it? I would have seen that and just thought Turkey Vulture but I'm sure that I am not an Eagle expert. We have some Bald Eagles near the rivers here, but yours does not look like one of those?

  2. It's a juvenile bald eagle. From this angle it does look a bit like a vulture. In real life the head is completely different. Also, it lacks the classic turkey vulture two-toned undercarriage.

We don't have many vultures on the beach, which is surprising, given the abundance of carrion. There are plenty in the hills inland. Maybe the eagles chase them off.

  3. the setting looks familiar! I'm happy the setting is shared, and perhaps the setting is shared with the sitting!
